FREDERICK JOHN SIVYER was born 4 December 1824 in Hastings Sussex, England, and died 12 October 1901 in Erskineville, New South Wales, Australia. He is buried in the Rockwood Cemetry, Sydney.
He arrive in April 1839 at Sydney, New South Wales, with his parents, brothers and sisters on board the 'Argyle' at the age of 15 years.
He married CATHERINE DONOVAN BATHGATE 22 November 1852 in Chippendale, Sydney, New South Wales, daughter of JAMES BATHGATE and MARTHA LEECH. She was born 1835 in Edinburgh, Scotland. Catherine died in 1898 at Sydney.

On May 25, 1898 Frederick John Sivyer married for the second time to Mary Elizabeth Graham at Paramatta, Sydney.

Fredrick John has always been listed as brickmaker in the directories and lists of the day.
